Game overview

A detective OS with no glowing clues

Homicide Desk City Atlas showing Ravenport districts, a CCTV feed, and patrol dispatch on the detective desktop

Homicide Desk is a single-player detective simulation set in rain-soaked Ravenport, a port city in the Republic of Meridia. Shu'la Lab LLC released it on Steam on September 1, 2026. You work a homicide the way a real desk works: nested case files, a forensics lab you operate by hand, CCTV and photo analysis, and free-text interrogations that answer in your own words. There are no waypoints and no dialogue trees. Get the charge right and the file closes. Get it wrong and Internal Affairs opens one on you. Start with the Getting Started guide, clear the training case, then learn how to interrogate without letting a suspect lawyer up, run the forensics lab, and follow the case workflow before you file an arrest warrant. Language and demo notes live in settings. The 22 Steam unlocks are on achievements.

Clock in

A short path from first boot to a clean warrant.

  1. 1

    Install and update

Buy Homicide Desk on Steam, then apply the latest patch before you clock in. Launch week shipped black-screen hotfixes and a quit fix for the bundled AI server. Details live on the patch notes page. Confirm your PC against the system requirements and the local interrogation model page — the install is about 13 GB because the model runs on your machine.

  2. 2

    Learn the desk OS

The game is a CRT-era police desktop, not a 3D crime scene you walk through. Follow the Getting Started checklist and the controls page so you know how to open apps, drag 3D evidence, and switch on the UV light. HR messages on the in-game phone replace pop-up tutorials.

  3. 3

    Clear the training file

Case #000, The Pawnshop Key, is the onboarding robbery. Finish the training case before you accept a homicide. Use interrogation to present documents instead of fishing, and forensics when a 3D scan or receipt needs a closer look.

  4. 4

Work a homicide the long way

When Captain Morrison drops Case #001, read the spoiler-safe The Overtime setup, then follow the case workflow. Pin people and objects on the evidence board, then write a deduction you can defend. Do not rush the arrest warrant — a wrong charge opens Internal Affairs.

  5. 5

    Keep the precinct alive

Salary pays for dossier pulls, breaks during questioning, the commissary, and the optional blackjack table. The precinct guide covers dispatch, the Gazette, and why the Store exists. After that, skim the review if you still want a buyer's read.

FAQ

Wiki FAQ

Quick answers for detectives still on the clock.

Where should a new detective start?

Read Getting Started, then the interrogation and forensics guides. The walkthrough hub is for case process, not a spoiler dump of who to charge.

Is Homicide Desk out yet?

Yes. Shu'la Lab LLC released it on Steam on September 1, 2026, with a 17% launch discount. It is Windows-only, single-player, with Steam Cloud and 22 achievements.

Is this an official wiki?

No. This is a fan-made resource. Confirm patches, refunds, and store copy on Steam or through the official links hub.

Which languages does this wiki cover?

English at the root path, plus French, German, and Spanish. The game itself ships ten interface languages, with full audio in English and Arabic.

Does the game use AI?

Only for live suspect and witness replies during interrogation. Cases, evidence, and endings are hand-written. The language model ships inside the game and runs locally — nothing you type leaves your PC. See the local interrogation model page if ollama.exe stays running after quit (fixed in 1.3.9).

Can I play with a friend?

No. Homicide Desk is single-player only. There is no multiplayer of any kind.

The case is open, Detective
